Long over due update

Well, almost 9 months post surgery now and things are going ok.

My weight: finally moving in the right direction again! 1 lb away from the next decade! Currently at 221!

Totals lost: 95lbs since July of last year (when I started the process of having the surgery) and 159 since my heaviest!

Some of my size 16 shorts are now requiring a belt! And a regular bath towel now fits just fine! No more having to use huge bath sheets or beach towels! I am going to have to break down and buy some new bras as well.

We moved into our new house the first of July and that’s been keep us both really busy.  Work has been crazy for me as well and unfortunately the diet has taken a back seat from time to time.  I have eaten some things that I know I shouldn’t (like a double cheese Krystal – minus the middle bun) but luckily my pouch still only holds a little so gorging myself when stress really isn’t an option.

Chicken still tends to be too damn dry every once and a while and recently came right back up.  I also learned that cheapo frozen pizza is NOT my friend no matter how much I used to go to it when stressed…it now makes me dump in a heartbeat :(

My back has been hurting a lot lately.  I think it stemmed from over doing it one week with 3 trips to Daytona in a row and it just hasn’t recovered yet.  This of course has greatly deterred my exercise :(    Its hard to go work out when you want to die in pain in the bed.  Thank goodness for those icy/hot patches though they really have been helping to keep the number of percocets down when I have to go do something for work, etc.

I had my checkup with the surgeon last month and my lab work was beautiful.  Diabetes is still no where to be seen with my blood sugar level right at 100 and my HA1C at 5.8!  My blood pressure has been a little wonky, mostly with things being on the low side from time to time.  Doc seems to think that’s largely from dehydration and/or too much caffeine.  So, I’ve been limited to 1 latte a day.

The saggy skin is really starting to bother me.  My arms are horrible and so is my belly.  I know that I need to start doing strength training to help with this matter and its somewhere on my to-do list…really.

Also, I know this sounds weird but I miss my butt!  I actually have found that my bottom quite often hurts after sitting due to lack of padding.  I’ve had to get cushions for the car and my office chairs.

I will try to take pics again soon.  Thanks for reading and thanks to Rachel for reminding me to update!

    Yay update!!

I can speak for Joe & myself- feel ya on the loose skin. It really sucks and can feel soooo deterring. Strength training will help, though, and I bet you can do some things without putting strain on your back. :)

    So many congrats, dear!
